Able - [ey-buhl] “having the freedom or opportunity to do something”

The primary theme of this project is an exploration of a multifaceted mind, someone with many interests and abilities!

This project developed over an intensive 6–10 week conceptualization phase, beginning with extensive handwritten notes, free writing, and iterative brainstorming to define the overall tone and direction.

Early on, I focused on clarifying core guiding questions such as:

What purpose should this piece serve? What emotional response should it evoke? What is the central message I want to communicate?

From there, I developed multiple mood boards exploring illustration styles, color palettes, and tonal directions. These explorations helped refine the visual language of the project and narrow in on a cohesive aesthetic aligned with the concept.

Time management was a huge factor as well! This project's Milanote board had broken down tasks based on each week, since we had about 10 weeks to fully produce this project.

Throughout production, Able underwent several iterations and adjustments, particularly in response to time constraints and evolving ideas during my final academic quarter. Despite these challenges, the project ultimately came together as a fully realized piece that reflects both my creative process and my growth as a designer.
